Carry the Weight
Put another box on his back.
Pile on the weight and watch him climb.
He will trudge up the crags and hills,
Towards places most sublime.
Dispense to him all your burdens.
He will smile and wave as you go.
For the more who reach paradise,
The fewer suffering will know.
Leave him behind and continue.
He will take the weight and smile.
Leave unto him your baggage.
Hope to convene in a while.
Go to your destination,
Knowing he trails behind you,
He will keep piling on boxes,
So others can reach you too.
But when you reach the summit,
You should not become confused,
As to his prolonged absence,
When his kindness was abused.
You were not the first nor last,
To saddle him with a load.
So he must keep on climbing,
And forever walk that road.
