Update: December 2025
It’s been roughly six months since I last wrote one of these update posts, so I think it is high time that I get another one out to you all. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be the most exciting of updates.
Back in June, I mentioned that this year has been particularly rough on me health-wise. I have chronic health issues and my doctors are still having a difficult time identifying what exactly my condition is or where it stems from. Work is being done on that front, pretty much constantly - I’ve had more appointments this year than I care to elucidate on. That being said though, the constant battle with my health problems with treatment that can only alleviate symptoms and not target the root cause, means that it has been difficult to keep up with things.
I keep myself very busy and I have a very tightly packed schedule. But, as much as I hate to admit it, it’s very hard for me to actually keep up with that workload. There are simply going to be times where I fall behind and sometimes, I’m going to have to push back deadlines because I’m just not going to be capable of meeting them.
Obviously, this month has been one of those times. I’m doing my best, but I just haven’t been able to keep up. So, before getting into any specifics, I just wanted to acknowledge that and thank all of you who are still constantly coming back here to read my articles, stories and poems, watch my videos and listen to my podcasts. I appreciate your patience and I am committed to putting out the best work I can to honour it. So, with that out the way, let’s talk about what is going on and what you can expect going forward.
Podcasts
Originally, I said that Stories Across Borders’ fourth season would likely be starting to go up in November or December. Obviously, that hasn’t happened. Between my health problems, the obtrusive bad weather lasting longer than usual and a bunch of other real life things going on for both myself and Jon, we’ve been delayed pretty considerably.
The good news is that season four is still coming. We have started recording. In fact, we’re pretty close to wrapping up recording on the second cycle of the season. I’m still behind on editing, unfortunately, but progress is being made and the buffer I talked about liking to have before release is being established. So, at this stage, you can expect to see the next season of SAB going up in January or February of 2026. During this season you can expect to see cycles on remakes and re-imagining, romance, villains and a return to looking into horror - among other things. You can also expect to see returning guests and new faces both.
Sadly, things with Ficsation aren’t looking quite as promising. I still fully intend to get season two up at some point. However, between my tending towards being sick and difficulty managing to schedule a new roster of guests for a host of other reasons, I’m no longer sure when I’ll be able to actually make Ficsation’s next season happen. I’ll keep you updated but, for now, it’s probably best to assume that it is on hold indefinitely until stated otherwise.
Epilogue
As you might have seen, at this point in time, the entirety of Epilogue’s first season is now available completely free both here and on YouTube. I’m really proud of a lot of what I wrote for Epilogue, so I’m thrilled that it is now more accessible.
You can also find season two by subscribing to my Premium content for $2 (Australian) a month. As of right now, five out of six episodes are available. I had planned on being finished by now, but unfortunately (as I’m sure you’re getting tired of hearing by now), my health situation got in the way of that and has forced me to delay getting the last episode out. I could theoretically have powered through, but I have long since learned that you aren’t going to get my best work that way and I don’t want season two to end on anything less than my best. Hopefully, the final episode will be up this weekend. At worst, I think you can probably expect it to be out next week.
Which brings me to season three. Epilogue has gone on to be one of the most popular things here on my site, especially now that the first season has been made free. Given how much you all seem to enjoy my stories about literally everyone dying, I think it makes sense to at least seriously consider making a third season.
That being said, I really don’t want to bite off more than I can chew either. I’m working on a lot of projects right now and, like I said, that’s proving difficult to keep up with. So I’m not going to lock in any dates for season three until I am confident in my ability to keep up with it and maintain the quality of the work.
Season three will probably happen at some point in 2026, I’m just not sure when. So keep your eyes peeled for further updates.
Books
Another update where I, sadly, don’t have much to offer you. I am still working on both Pieces and my as-of-yet unnamed YA fantasy story. I’ve made progress on both, but I don’t really have anything massive to share with you about either compared to previous updates on the matter.
I have been toying with the idea of potentially putting out parts of one or both in a similar format to early access games as part of my Premium content. Essentially, giving you access to the stories earlier - before they are finished or fully-edited. That way you could read the stories sooner for only $2 a month while also getting to see how they evolve with editing. I’m not really sure yet if this is something I want to do or that people would be interested in seeing though.
Either way, I’ll let you know what’s going on with my books once I have more to share.
That’s about it for December updates, I’m afraid. Thank you again to sticking with me and following along with my various writings and other projects and for your patience with anything that has had to be delayed.
