May 2026 Update
Well, it’s the end of May. That’s not that far off of being half way through the year which is horrifying for a multitude of different reasons. That being said, it’s also probably about time for another update on how things are coming along in regards to my various projects.
Unfortunately… I once more don’t have much to say. It’s not that things aren’t happening but, for a few reasons, things are a bit slow right now. The biggest reason probably just being life. I don’t generally talk much about my life outside of writing in these posts and I’m not going to do too much of that here. But, it’s probably necessary to explain my slower pace right now.
It’s hardly a secret that I deal with chronic health problems. They first appeared back in 2015 and completely changed the trajectory of my life and, as of yet, we still don’t know what they are. Sometimes, those health problems kick in and dramatically reduce the amount of energy I have for getting writing/projects done. Right now, I’m in one of those patches. It’s not all bad news there though. There’s some promising leads on what might actually be wrong with me we’re looking into and my rough patches never last forever.
The constant fluctuation of my health does get frustrating and tiring though, regardless. Which only makes the general burnout I’m dealing with all the more difficult. Because, as it turns out, posting two articles/blogs a month, writing and posting a short story once a month, recording and editing two different podcasts, dealing with all the behind the scenes business stuff all the while attempting to write multiple books and battling chronic illness doesn’t do wonders for one’s energy or motivation. I’m still working slowly but surely, but I’m also exhausted.
So, that’s the meat of the update really. Right now, I’m just struggling to keep that pace up. But things are definitely not stopping, even when they're slow. Recording for Ficsation has well and truly wrapped up, but there’s still two episodes left to be posted. Recording for SAB is nearly done, but there’s enough episodes remaining to keep things going through the winter when recording has stopped. With recording and editing for the podcasts soon to be taking up less of my time or effort though, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to start making much faster progress on my books once my schedule clears up a bit.
Speaking of podcasts though, I’m appearing on BOOKED in July which is pretty exciting. On top of that, I have some other projects other than my novels that are actually progressing pretty well. Nothing I can actually announce just yet, but I’m eager to show you!
For now, bear with me. I know that there’s been a little less regularity to my content over the last little while. But the only way I’ll stop making things at all is if I’m dead. Thank you for your patience.
